VETEFITS is not the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs. We are not affiliated with, endorsed by, or acting on behalf of any government agency. We do not prepare, file, submit, or represent you on a VA claim, and we cannot decide one or make one go faster.
What this site is
A plain-English explanation of what exists, and a route to the official source or the accredited person who can actually help. Where a rule could change — an amount, a percentage, an eligibility test — we deliberately do not restate it here. We link to the government page that owns the answer, because that page stays current and this one might not.
It is not advice
Nothing here is legal, medical, financial, or claims advice, and nothing here creates a representative relationship. Only a VA-accredited representative, agent, or attorney may assist you with a claim before the VA. Your circumstances are specific and a website cannot know them.
No promises about outcomes
We cannot and do not promise that you qualify for anything, that a claim will succeed, that a rating will increase, or how long any of it takes. Anyone who does promise you those things is worth being careful with.
Nobody can charge you to file a first claim
Representatives at county veterans service offices and at organizations such as the DAV, VFW and American Legion cannot charge you for help with an initial claim. The VA says so on its own page about accredited representatives. You should never pay to file one.

We link to government pages and to organizations that serve veterans. We do not control them and are not responsible for their content. We never take a fee for sending you to any of them.
The event
Details are still being confirmed and may change. Attending is free. We are arranging for service officers from county veterans offices and veterans organizations to be there; registering guarantees neither their attendance nor a one-to-one appointment with one. The U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs is not running the event and is not processing claims at it. Any organization present is responsible for what it says and does.
